TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION PREPARATION
Coordinate punching CNC punching machines perform successive operations at positions specified in the program. The coordinates determine the arrangement of holes and the contour processing path. The punch and die form a working tool pair that shears the material at selected locations. Tool selection depends on the material, sheet thickness and component geometry.
Technical documentation and part preparation Technical drawings should specify the shapes and dimensions of cutouts, the distances between holes and their positions relative to the edges of the part. On this basis, we assess the feasibility of manufacturing the component and select the processing method. If holes are to be made in sheet metal intended for subsequent bending or welding, we also take into account the requirements of later production stages.
Embossments and formed features The part design may include embossments, hole flanging or stiffening ribs. Such formed features require appropriate tooling. We assess the feasibility of producing them individually based on the technical documentation, material and production equipment.
Dimensional accuracy and quality control of parts We agree on the required dimensional accuracy and scope of inspection based on customer documentation. Verification covers the part dimensions, hole positions and conformity of the geometry with the drawing. We assess edge quality for burrs and compliance with the agreed finishing requirements.
