STAMPING PREPARATION AND TECHNOLOGY
Forming three-dimensional parts Sheet metal drawing allows three-dimensional parts to be formed from flat blanks. Deep drawing of sheet metal requires an assessment of the geometry, material properties, blank-holding force and press parameters. We confirm the feasibility of such operations individually after analyzing the documentation and available tooling.
Presses and process selection Eccentric and crank presses are types of mechanical presses; hydraulic presses are also used in stamping. The choice depends on the type of operation, required force, ram stroke and tool parameters. We assess each project against the capabilities of the available equipment.
Punches, dies and tooling Matched punches and dies shape the material. Tooling is selected according to the type of operation, part geometry and planned number of pieces. If new tools are required, their design and manufacture must be included in the schedule and quotation for production preparation.
Stamping of aluminium and stainless steel sheets The material grade, condition and thickness form the basis for selecting process parameters. For aluminium, we take into account the alloy and its as-supplied condition, while stainless steel sheet stamping is adapted to the properties of the specific steel grade.
Stamping of copper sheet We assess the feasibility of manufacturing copper parts individually. Information about the material grade and condition, sheet thickness and part geometry is required. We confirm the scope of work after analyzing the documentation and available tooling.
Technical documentation and quality control Part geometry, dimensional tolerances and surface quality should be clearly specified in the documentation. Detail drawings are used to prepare the process and agree on acceptance criteria. Quality control includes verification of dimensions, shape and surface condition according to these agreements.
