POWDER COATING

Powder coating is a modern method of protecting metal parts and structures against corrosion, mechanical damage and the effects of the external environment. In metalworking, it provides a uniform surface appearance and consistent quality in both individual product manufacture and series production.

PRITZ DEVELOPMENT powder coats components, metal housings, finished welded structures and complete products. Working from customer documentation allows requirements for the coating, color, appearance and other finished product parameters to be agreed in advance.

Manufacturing process

The quality and adhesion of the powder coating depend directly on surface preparation and maintaining process parameters at every stage.

01 Surface preparation Before applying the coating, we clean and degrease the surface to remove dirt, oils and process residues. We select the preparation method according to the material, product design and coating requirements.
02 Powder paint application Electrostatic spraying allows powder paint to be applied to the product surface.
03 Polymerization After the powder has been applied, the parts are placed in a chamber where the coating cures. We select polymerization parameters according to the requirements of the powder paint used, taking into account the temperature and baking time of the part.
04 Coating inspection The surface of the finished product is checked for coating uniformity, finish quality and the absence of visible defects.

What we coat

Powder coating is used for various types of products made from steel and other metals:

  • equipment housings
  • metal panels
  • brackets and mounting components
  • welded structures and steel structure components
  • machine and equipment parts
  • furniture components
  • retail equipment components
  • metal cabinets and housings
  • sheet metal products
  • f
  • inished metal products

Main advantages

Uniform coating
Powder coating provides a uniform coating layer on the product surface.

Metal protection
The coating increases the resistance of metal parts to corrosion and external factors. Corrosion protection depends on substrate preparation and selecting a coating system suited to the operating conditions.

Series coating
A controlled manufacturing process ensures consistent results across successive batches.

Full production cycle
Coating can be carried out immediately after parts are manufactured and welded.

Working from customer documentation
During production planning, we take into account the technical requirements for the product and coating.

PRODUCTION CYCLE

SURFACE PREPARATION AND COATING SELECTION
Scope of substrate preparation The scope of preparation is selected according to the metal type and substrate condition. Shot blasting is an example of mechanical preparation, while phosphating is a chemical treatment used, among other applications, to prepare steel. If the documentation specifies such operations, we confirm their use and the conditions under which they will be carried out before work begins.
Powder coating of aluminium For aluminium profiles and components, we select substrate preparation according to the material type, its condition and operating conditions. We establish requirements for color, texture and areas to remain uncoated before work begins.
Color and surface finish It is advisable to specify colors from the RAL palette and the type of finish in the request for quotation. Depending on the project, a matt finish, gloss finish, satin finish or textured coating may be specified. We agree on the expected result and availability of the appropriate powder paint before work begins.
Masking threads and mounting surfaces Masking protects areas that must remain uncoated, such as threads, holes with specified fits and contact surfaces. These areas should be marked on the drawing or specified in the order requirements. We agree on the scope of masking before coating.
Powder coating — price per m² We determine the cost of powder coating based on the surface area and geometry of the components, substrate condition, scope of preparation, paint type, masking and number of pieces. When requesting a price per m², it is also advisable to provide the product dimensions and finishing requirements. We will prepare an individual quotation based on the documentation.
